So…I grow tired of a world that thinks of Africa as a homogeneous splodgey triangle in the middle of the globe when it is in fact made up of around 50 countries (same as Europe) and 1500-2000 languages (erm not like Europe which has 23 officially recognised languages and about 60 unofficially ones).
People tend not to think of Spain and Switzerland, in Europe, as having the same culture, politics, or economy, or Japan and Cambodia in Asia. But what about Zambia and Liberia? Well they are about 3000 miles apart and while Liberia has been at the heart of the Ebola epidemic, Zambia is home to Victoria Falls one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Anyway, I can’t criticize people too much as I have no idea about Africa either. So I thought I would right this by doing some research and sharing with you little fact files about the countries of Africa- in alphabetical order starting with Algeria.
