If you happen to be strolling through New York anytime soon check out the Public Library which is, as it sounds, a library for the public. It’s a working library so expect to be shushed if you become rambunctious and also for your bag to be checked in and out. It’s worth visiting though just to see the building- they don’t make libraries like this in England! It opened it’s doors in 1911, and today shows temporary displays, holds talks, and has a children’s centre.
