New York Ellis Island and Liberty Island

Ellis Island was the first thing we did on our first full day in New York.  We got the ferry from Battery Park which is when I remembered that Manhattan is an island, and it has quite a pretty waterfront!  The ticket gave us access to the Ellis Island museum as well as Liberty Island where the Statue of Liberty lives.

The Ellis Island Museum was interesting although we were a little jet lagged and struggled to take all the information in!  The Statue of Liberty was pretty impressive although the best views of her are on the boat rather than stood underneath.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had clear views of Manhattan as well.
