Mirabell Palace and Gardens, Salzburg

Mirabell Gardens It was stupidly hot when we went around Mirabell Gardens, which is essentially a park with a formal garden attached to Mirabell Palace. The Palace is now a Municipal building so you can’t look around inside but the gardens were nice.  The fountains were taunting me though; I wanted to throw myself in every one we went past.Mirabell Gardens We strolled through the Zwerglgarten or Dwarf Garden where there are about a dozen statues of warped Dwarves.  As much as admire the grotesque and macabre, it struck me as being a little un-PC?   It was created in 1715, and the statues were modeled on little people that worked as entertainers in the palace. Mirabell Gardens
