A Walk in the Country

A walk in the country from Settle to Stainforth in Yorkshire on another bleak, grey, weekend.

Walk from Setle to Stainforth

The Settle train station is very cute, with an old fashioned signal box.  While Settle isn’t huge we did enjoy a hot chocolate and cake at the ‘Ye Olde Naked Man Cafe’.

Along the way we passed along the old Lime Kilns (for limestone not limes in case you were wondering) which we wandered inside, and it looked quite cool.  I quite wanted to climb up on top though but you couldn’t.

The root was a little muddy in places…

We reached Stainforth, it was only about 2 3/4 miles there although muddy terrain slowed us down.  We took the road on the way back which seemed a lot quicker.
