Dalby Forest, North York Moors National Park

1480274304118.jpgWe took a very. very cold walk in Dalby Forest.  We took the yellow route which was only a few miles, so it was about 1.5hrs.  It was a little hilly, and at one point I might have tripped over a tree root…

This, it turned out, was the ‘Stick Man’ walk and there were various images of Stick Man who, if you didn’t know, is a stick that’s also a man but keeps getting mistaken for a stick with horrifying consequences (eaten by a dog, burnt on a fire etc).

It was incredibly foggy when we first set off, and quite chilly!  But it did brighten up and I can imagine it would be rather nice in the summer.  It’s a shame that none of the walks seems that long.  I realised at the end of the walk that I had been there before with ex-boyfriend when we hired bikes (pretty pricey at about £48 for half a day).  But cycling is not my strength and I did really struggle to do the hair pin bends uphill, so it wasn’t exactly successful.  However, if you are more outdoorsy then you might enjoy it, I would just take your own gear though!
